Community Raises $10,000 in First Week for Gardnerville Ranchos Fire Victims
MINDEN, NEVADA - The East Fork Ember Foundation announced today that more than 40 community donors and board members contributed just over $10,000 in the first week following the devastating Sagebrook fire that destroyed multiple homes in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Initial recovery assistance checks totaling $10,000 were distributed to all impacted families, providing immediate relief while longer-term recovery efforts continue.

Dignity-Centered Support Beyond Finances
In addition to direct financial assistance, families received thoughtful care packages through a collaborative effort led by Sierra Care Collaborative, in partnership with the East Fork Ember Foundation, F.I.S.H. Ranchos Family Services, and local businesses. Each package included beautiful, handcrafted quilts made with love—offering comfort, warmth, and a tangible reminder that the community stands together.
Gratitude to First Responders
Recovery efforts are being coordinated closely with the East Fork Fire and Paramedic District, whose exemplary service under Chief Ernst's leadership proved instrumental in protecting lives and property during the incident. The firefighters and paramedics worked tirelessly to contain the blaze and ensure community safety.

East Fork Ember Foundation Launches Fire Recovery Fund for Gardnerville Ranchos
MINDEN, NEVADA - In response to the recent fire that destroyed multiple homes and displaced families in the Gardnerville Ranchos, the East Fork Ember Foundation announced the establishment of a dedicated Fire Recovery Fund to support impacted residents.
Foundation Mission Activated
Formed in Summer 2025, the East Fork Ember Foundation was created to strengthen firefighter readiness, enhance emergency response capabilities, and protect the lives, homes, and businesses of Carson Valley communities. While preparing for a formal January 2026 launch, the severity of this event demanded immediate action—activating the Foundation's mission in real time.
The Fire Recovery Fund provides immediate relief and short-term recovery assistance for displaced residents, coordinated directly with the East Fork Fire Protection District to ensure resources reach those who need them most.
